We start the course with a general introduction to glass fusing with a bit of technical and safety information thrown in.
During the course of the afternoon you’ll design and create a piece of 3D textured art glass. You’ll have access to a wide range of sheet glass, grits, frits and powders, stringers, ribbons, nuggets, confetti, micas and millefiori (all will become clear)! You’ll learn the basics of cutting, shaping and layering glass for 3D contour kiln work and we’ll discuss how the glass will behave in the kiln. Creativity and imagination is the key.
Your work will be fired overnight in my studio and posted out to you to display with pride.
The workshops take place in two great venues in either Hundred House or Brecon town centre. Both venues are spacious and airy allowing for social distancing and Covid safe practice. They are also wheelchair friendly and benefit from disabled toilet facilities. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
The Fused Glass Afternoon Workshop run from 1.30 until around 5pm but we sometimes run over rather than rush the pieces.
Snacks and refreshments are provided on all courses, as are all materials and equipment. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies.
Please wear closed toe shoes for safety reasons.
Please note that courses will only run with a minimum of two participants. If your booking is the only one for a date then I will contact you to arrange a date change or a full refund.
