Description
This course is designed for complete beginners but can also be adapted for those who already have some experience in this field.
Made famous by Tiffany with their lampshades, the copper foil technique is particularly suited to smaller, more detailed work (eg. suncatchers) or 3D pieces. During the morning we cover the basics of how to cut and shape glass, how to apply and work with copper foil and solder, and how to design patterns for stained glass.
After learning the basics we go on to design and then create unique individual stained glass panels to take home at the end of the day.
The workshops take place in either Hundred House (LD1 5RY) or Brecon town centre – you can see the location for a course when you select a date above, and exact directions will be provided on booking. Both venues have ample parking, are spacious and airy and allow for social distancing and Covid safe practice. They are also wheelchair friendly and have disabled toilet access. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
The Introduction to Stained Glass Workshops run from 9am until around 5pm but we sometimes run over rather than rush the pieces.
Snacks and refreshments are provided on all courses, as are all materials and equipment. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies.
Please wear closed toe shoes for safety reasons.
Unfortunately pregnant women are advised against working with stained glass as the lead can harm a developing foetus.
Please note that courses will only run with a minimum of two participants. If your booking is the only one for a date then I will contact you to arrange a date change or a full refund.
